Following on from the 'Learn To' courses in both the National Sailing Scheme and the Youth Sailing Scheme, you can choose one of the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) advanced modules to suit your sailing interests.
These are available to both adults and young people. Each course can be taken in a dinghy, small keelboat or multihull.
Generally, you will be ready for these courses if you have completed the RYA Basic SKills (Level 2) or RYA Better Sailing (Level 3) of the National Sailing Scheme for Adults.
For Youth Sailors, we recommend you have completed RYA Youth Stage 4 of the Youth Sailing Scheme, and have had some practice too!
The 2 day course is aimed at improving your technical sailing ability and will be run in our double handed sailing dinghies.
The emphasis of this course is on increasing the self-reliance and decision-making of the sailor, by spending time developing your boat handling and manoeuvring skills in a seamanlike manner.
Key learning points: coming alongside, man overboard recovery and reefing afloat.
Our friendly instructors will be with you every step of the way, offering clear instruction, guidance and encouragement.
Other than the fact we’re an RYA Training Centre of excellence, have access to arguably one of the best sailing locations across the globe and are located in the heart of the South Coast:
Our courses are led by friendly, passionate and qualified RYA Instructors – some might say some of the best in the industry.
We also offer courses suitable for adults, children, groups and those with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities – anybody can learn new skills.
