The Powerboat Level 1 is a practical introduction to boat handling and safety in powerboats. Suitable for those between the age of 8-11, Powerboat Level 1 will teach you everything you need to know and allow you to get to grips with powerboating basics.
This is a great taster course, to introduce your children to the water if you're not sure they want to commit to the Powerboating Level 2 course.
We know it can be intimidating taking your first step into a new hobby, but there’s nothing to worry about, Powerboating is really fun! Relax with the knowledge that our fully qualified instructors will be with you every step of the way and get you on the water with confidence.
Our Powerboating Level 1 courses only take 1 day in duration to complete.
The age range for the Powerboating Level 1 is between the age of 8-11. Anyone older than 11 will go straight onto the Powerboating Level 2 course, even if they have no previous experience.
There is no previous experience required for the Powerboating Level 1 course. We will teach you everything you need to know, to be able to move to onto Level 2.
The maximum student ratio is 3 students per instructor. This is to ensure you’re getting the 1-2-1 instructor experience.
The Level 1 Powerboating course may only be 1 day in duration but it’s certainly jam-packed. Here’s what you’ll be getting up to:
Boat Launching & Recovery.
Preparation of the boat & the crew.
Low speed boat handling.
Picking up & securing to a mooring buoy.
Leaving and coming alongside.
Being towed.
IRPCS – Basically the rules of the road.
