Active Nation are pleased to present December’s local hero; the very generous Lottie from Chorley. Aged only 10, Lottie has been raising money for charities for several years now. She was inspired to begin fundraising after her Nana passed away in February 2015. Lottie says on her fundraising page: “My Nana used to raise money for different charities for several years, when she passed away I continued to raise money as I know she would be proud of me.”
Some of the amazing causes Lottie has raised funds for include Macmillan, Children in Need, and Rainbow House. In February this year, she also signed up to be one of the 500 faces of Rock FM’s Cash for Kids and has since completed a sponsored silence, a 40mile bike ride, run a car wash event, and organised raffles – including a big Christmas raffle for which she is currently selling tickets, to be drawn on 20th December.
Lottie’s original target was to raise £100 for Cash for Kids – a goal which she achieved and totally smashed! Incredibly, Lottie has now raised over £1,100 for the cause, currently placing her at number 4 in the fundraiser leader board! So don’t be fooled: this local hero might be little, but she has achieved enormous things!
Lottie recently attended the Cash for Kids funded activity camp at Active Nation’s Clayton Green Sports Centre, and saw how kids in the local community can be helped by her fantastic fundraising. She had a great time and got involved in fun activities, like powering a smoothie blender by peddling a bike!
Active Nation are very grateful to Lottie for her incredible achievements, and are so happy to have such an inspiring Local Hero. We can all learn something about kindness and hard work from Lottie, and it is safe to say that she has done her Nana incredibly proud, as well as her whole community.
