John won Gold for Derian House Children’s Hospice!

John Ferguson completed an extraordinary gym challenge on Sunday 14th November 2010 to raise money for Derian House Children’s Hospice.

The challenge involved climbing 1576 steps in just 20 minutes via a stepper machine, row 34,000 metres in 4 hours and finally cycle 173 km in 5 hours!

John started with the stepper at 7.10am, then continued with the rower. It took him 2 hours and 25 minutes to complete the second task and he finally went on the bike until 5.50pm.

Derian House is an hospice for terminally ill children. The aim of Derian House is simple, “to make the children’s life as full and comfortable as possible while they are still with us”.

John’s challenge aimed to raise money to buy an “Oxygen Assistance Machine” which will aid the breathing of terminally ill children while they are asleep.
