Active Nation ‘Shared In The Magic’ by delivering more than 100 toys to sick children in hospital as part of the Disney Store’s annual charity campaign.

In October last year, the Disney Store encouraged guests to write a letter to Santa and post them in-store or online at disneystore.co.uk. For each letter received, Disney Store donated a soft toy to a local charity in the UK.

Active Nation and the Rose Road Association were the charities nominated by Disney Store Southampton for the ‘Share in the Magic’ campaign. The Rose Road Association has been providing high quality services for disabled children and young people across Hampshire and surrounding counties since 1952.

On January 27, Active Nation managers visited the children’s wards at Southampton General Hospital to present the 108 toys that had been donated to them by the Disney Store.

Mark Learnihan, Contract Manager for Active Nation said: “We were delighted to be part of this wonderful campaign from Disney. We have a fantastic relationship with the staff working at the Disney Store and prior to Christmas we encouraged our Supporters to help with the donation.

“The donations we received have given comfort to children in hospital who myself and managers from Active Nation were able to visit. Spending time with the brave young children and their families has been a very humbling experience for us all and one that will stay with us for a very long time.”

Accompanying the managers from Active Nation was “Captain Quays”, the official mascot of The Quays Swimming and Diving Complex, who had his own “Duffy Bear” which he carried around with him.
