Find Your Rhythm At Etwall’s Street Dance Sessions!

Kids are being given a chance to find their rhythm at a fun and exciting new dance class.
Following calls from Supporters for more children’s activities – particularly dance – Etwall Leisure Centre is joining forces with dance teacher Lucy Clark to launch South Derbyshire Dancers. The sessions are for boys and girls and will be based around a contemporary street based style.
Lucy said: “I believe dance is great for young people to build confidence within themselves and allows them to be creative in a whole new way. It allows them to gain a passion they can share with so many people and can take anywhere.”
Lucy began dancing at the age of 16 and then went on to graduate from university with a joint honours degree in Dance and Sport Studies. Lucy’s first experience of teaching dance came when she was at dancing school. She would lead classes for the younger years, including after school clubs and performances. She then went on to run contemporary dance classes for adults whilst studying for her degree.
Lucy added: “I love to dance and get a real buzz out of teaching others. The classes will be fun, so please come down and join in!”
The vibrant and uplifting classes will run on Tuesdays from 4pm-4.45pm for 4 to 6 year olds and from 5pm-5.45pm for 7 to 10 year olds. Each class costs £3 payable in reception.
Spaces are limited so book on now by calling 01283 733348.
