One day course for young people to develop climbing skills.
What is it?
The National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) is open to youth climbers of all ages and abilities. At Woodmill we offer Levels 1 and 2 of the scheme. You progress with each level, with a minimum numbers of climbs required. All coaching and safety equipment will be provided.
You will learn climbing rope-work and how to use equipment safely, including risk assessment and management skills. You will work as a team, communicate and trust your climbing partner. You will develop an understanding of the sport, its history and future challenges.
When is it?
Our NICAS courses run on Wednesdays in the school holidays from 09:00-16:30.
Who is it for?
This course is designed for any young person eight years old and above, whatever their climbing ability. If you love the challenge of an adrenaline-filled sport, this might be for you.
How much is it?
£31, including a course book and certificate.
