Olympic Medallist Designs Active Nation …

Cycle Ride

Have you heard about the Active Nation Chorley Cycle Rides? Did you know the routes have been selected by four time Olympic cyclist and medallist Bryan Steel?

Active Nation are proud to have worked alongside Bryan in mapping the 10 mile, 30 mile and 50 mile routes so they make the most of what the region has to offer cyclists.

The country’s top professionals are competing on 4th April 2015 in the opening round of the British Cycling Elite Road Series for 2015. This is the first time the event has been held in Chorley and Active Nation are on a mission to capture all of the excitement, inspiration and enthusiasm that the professionals will bring and give local cyclists the opportunity to take on their own challenge.

Don’t worry we won’t ask you to complete the 116 mile course ridden by the pros – but on Sunday 5th April 2015 you can complete one of the circuits designed by Bryan, that set off from Active Nation’s All Seasons Leisure Centre.

All routes cost just £10, refreshments will be provided at the start and finish, plus half way round on the 30 mile and 50 mile courses. Registration commences from 8.30am and riders are expected to get underway at 9.30am.

Active Nation’s Brian Ratcliffe said: “Bryan is a truly inspirational man and to have his help and expertise in designing the routes has been brilliant.

“It’s so exciting to see Chorley kick off the British Cycling Elite Road Series for 2015. There’s a real buzz about the Chorley Grand Prix and we want to give non-professionals the opportunity to get pedalling and challenge themselves on some of the country’s best cycle routes.”
