WHAT IS SNOWBOARDING?
Snowboarding is said to be the world’s fastest-growing winter sport – so pop down to one of Active Nation’s Alpine Snowsports venues and see what all of the fuss is about. We promise that you’ll soon be hooked on the buzz and adrenaline rush!
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
As well as increasing your heart rate, snowboarding can also help you to burn around 3,000 calories during a 6 hour day on the slopes. It works all of your muscle groups and is great for your core stability, balance and co-ordination. What better way to get fit and healthy than spending time outside on the slopes.
IS IT FOR ME?
Many venues, including Active Nation’s Alpine Snowsports in Southampton and Aldershot, run various courses for all ages – from those for complete beginners, to improver and freestyle sessions. There really is something for everyone. Get your adrenaline pumping, your heart rate racing and improve your fitness levels.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
– the snowboard and safety equipment, can always be hired on location, or are usually included in the activity cost.
– As you progress you’ll probably want your own kit – but get advice from an expert before going on a shopping spree.
