Start Windsurfing

The starting block for those looking at getting into the exciting sport of windsurfing.

What is it?

A course for complete novices looking to learn the basics of windsurfing. The course focuses on getting out on the water and understanding the principles of sailing and steering the board. It lays down the foundations needed to safely head out on the water, sail to a chosen point and return to the start location in light winds.

When is it?

Course runs usually at weekends and session times are 0900-1500
28th-29th July (times 1100-1700)
11-12th August (times 1100-1700)
8-9th September 2018
6-7th October 2018

Who is it for?

No prior experience is necessary so this course is designed for anyone looking to get into windsurfing. It is recommended that you are over 16 to take part however if you aren’t, have a look at our youth windsurf courses.

What next?

Once completed its time to get out on the water and start using these skills to build your windsurfing experience! The next course on the scheme is the RYA Intermediate non-planing course, where the final pieces are put together before its time to get the boards really flying.
