As a registered Charity, Active Nation is passionately committed to fulfilling its mission ‘to persuade the nation to be active’. At our heart is a belief that we must excite our communities and ignite their enthusiasm for sport and exercise.

Our message is an incredibly important and powerful one, since the choice our supporters make to stay active can significantly help them to reduce the risk of serious illnesses, such as Cancer, Osteoporosis, Type II Diabetes and Heart Disease.

To strengthen our charities impact, we not only rely on our supporters brilliant and remarkable campaigning to help us widen our reach, but we also rely on their financial donations too. Every penny that our supporters donate to us is re-invested into fulfilling our mission. We have no outside shareholders or investors to impress. So the surplus we make is channeled straight back into persuading more people to be active!

Active Nation manage 17 sports and exercise venues across the UK, working with 6 local authority partners to deliver a variety of innovative sports and exercise programmes for all ages and abilities. We offer anything and everything that gets you moving, such as swimming lessons, gym sessions, racquet sports, snowsports, paddlesports, exercise classes and much more.

Beyond these activities, our centre’s also operate as regional activity hub’s, offering a base from which many local sports clubs operate from. We pride ourselves on being able to offer the facilities, expertise and support to help nurture and grow the development of sport and exercise.

Our goal is to get the nation as excited and enthusiastic about sport and exercise as we are, so that it can have a demonstrable and positive effect on the health of the nation.
